$1.04 for a slice of heaven

cone.jpeg

I had a checkup this week (24 weeks along), and there is a McDonald’s on the way home. Is it strange to get a vanilla cone at 10am? Well, I did it, and let me tell you it was FANTASTIC! Really just a little slice of heaven on the side of the road. Love it!

Drats!

I’ve been waiting patiently for about 19 months for the tinytales.com domain name to expire in April 2008.  I checked on it today and it has been renewed for another year!  Argh!

Poll

Did I mention I am 6 months pregnant?  (Yea - I’ve got a lot going on right now.)   Coming soon - a baby poll!  You can guess the weight, length, and gender.  There is a website where you can log your votes, and it automatically tallies the winner based on a point system.  The person who has the most points will win a Tiny Tales kit of their choice - so be sure to check back soon for the poll!

Crisis averted

I realized in a panic that this weekend is Easter and Trey doesn’t have an Easter outfit!  Nor did I think about an easter basket with little goodies or an easter egg hunt.  I’ve been so wrapped up lately in planning for the move (which is a little over 3 weeks away by the way), that lining up easter activities totally slipped my mind.  We are going out of town to Grampy’s house on Saturday morning.  Luckily Grampy and Aunt Keek have the basket and hunt covered.  Phew!

So tonight in order to avoid a last minute trip to Old Navy or Gymboree, I opened a box in Trey’s closet and found the sweater vest he wore last Easter.  It was HUGE on him then, but should fit perfectly this year.  I have this thing with putting him in sweater vests for all major holidays.  Why?  Because little boys look adorable in sweater vests and because I am a mommy and can do these things.  It is a right I feel I have earned.

Off to see the tax man

I have my first appointment with the tax man tonight.  I am a little nervous.  Will he slap me on the wrist for not having my financial records super organized?  I have everything (I think), but I just haven’t put the time into categorizing my expenses and totaling everything up.  Yikes.  I have done our taxes myself in the past, but this year with the Tiny Tales business I just thought it would be a good idea to go to a professional.  Plus I am hoping he will guide me into how to become the perfectly organized small business owner.  Too much to ask for?  I think not!

Love

I am so in love with the new tiny Tales site.  I think it is adorable and eye catching, but most important for my customers, easy to read and navigate.  I also like how easy it is for me to make changes - for example - the free shipping sale going on through the end of the month (within the US)!

Tiny Tales is growing up!

newlogo.jpg

Why all the changes?
We’ve been in business a little over a year, and it just felt like it was time for a change. The company is growing faster than a toddler can throw a sippy cup, and we wanted a tagline and logo that was more representative of where we are going with the business.

What is the new tagline?
You may recall the previous Tiny Tales tagline was “catcher and keeper of baby’s first stories.” While it was a good fit for our kits targeted towards newborns and toddlers, having “baby” in the tagline felt too restrictive for future growth. We have big plans for expanding our product line this year, and are excited about the flexibility of the new tagline “The perfect recipe for life’s moments.” And honestly we felt it was catchier because who doesn’t want the perfect recipe for something? The perfect solution? The perfect product? This is what I want customers to feel when they think of Tiny Tales.

What’s up with the elephant in the new logo?
Um….we just like elephants? No really - there was some actual thought behind it. The main connection is the old adage “an elephant never forgets.” We don’t want you to forget any of the special memories that life brings, so the elephant in the logo is like the keeper for all those memories - providing a product so you never forget those special times. Is that explanation too deep for you? Ok..how about this one: we thought it was funny (in an ironic way) that the company has “tiny” in the name and the elephant is one of the largest animals alive. Either way, we like the connection. And we just like elephants.

When is the new website going to be ready?
The planned date is March 9th. We expect it to be down on March 7th and 8th

Oh no - I’ve bought 47 Tiny Tales kits for all my friends and now the notepads will turn into collector’s items!
Not just yet. Even though changes are a comin’, our product is the same modern, simple design you know and love. So rest easy, you and your friends can order notepad refills and they will match the ones you already have.
