New venture from the owner of Tiny Tales

Announcing Goods for Goodness’ Sake
Helping to make an impact - one purchase at a time.

A new year and a new way of shopping. At long last…we are ready to announce our new venture! Cathe (Feterie) and Lara (Tiny Tales) have joined forces to create an exciting and different online boutique called Goods for Goodness’ Sake. This boutique is special… 100% of profits will be donated to charity.

Our mission statement is: Goods for Goodness’ Sake is an online boutique that donates 100% of its profits to customer-selected charities through the sale of products created by small businesses.

We have partnered with amazing stationery designers to bring you beautiful and unique paper goods and plan to quickly expand to include other items. Many of the designers are creating exclusive designs that will only be available on Goods for Goodness’ Sake. When you make a purchase, you will be able to select the charity that will benefit. We will limit the number of charities that we donate to to around 5, so that we don’t spread our donations too thinly.

In order for Goods for Goodness’ Sake to be a success, we need your help in the following ways:

  • We are still collecting a list of potential charities from which the 5 initial charities will be selected, so send us charities for consideration that are near and dear to your heart. We want to make an impact with small charities that are doing good work but don’t receive the attention of the larger, well-known charities. Our criteria is: non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization (sorry - no “human fund” entries), under $500,000 in annual revenue, and a reach larger than a local area. If you aren’t sure if your favorite charity meets the criteria, send it along anyway and we’ll do the research. Email suggestions to SubmitCharity {at } goodsforgoodnesssake.com.
  • Forward this post to everyone you know. We are on a shoestring budget so that we can donate as much as possible. This means we will be relying on the cheapest marketing of all…word of mouth! So open up your online address books and liberally apply the forward button.
  • If you haven’t already, sign up at www.GoodsForGoodnessSake.com to receive future communications. Being a newsletter subscriber will give you the privilege of casting a vote to narrow down our list of charities to the 5 and will include a coupon for your first order.
  • Join our facebook club page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Goods-For-Goodness-Sake/106136345426
  • Follow us on twitter at www.twitter.com/GFGS
  • Of course…once we open come and shop shop shop!
  • Did we mention tell everyone you know?

Thanks for your continued support of Tiny Tales, and future support of Goods for Goodness’ Sake!

Welcome Carol!

Things have been crazy around here what with a move across the country! We are finally settled in Denver….. well, we were settled until we decided to go and buy a house. The initial plan was to rent until after the baby comes in July, but we found a house we fell in love with and decided to up and move again just 6 weeks after arriving in Denver.

At the same time the Tiny Tales wholesale business has really picked up, which has been fantastic. I added a Stores page to the site which seems to grow by the day. So much, in fact, that I have taken on Tiny Tales employee #2! I am excited to introduce Carol, Manager of Retail Relationships.

Carol will handle answering questions for current and potential stores, and generally just make sure that Tiny Tales is successful in stores. She is also on the hunt for new boutiques where Tiny Tales would be a good fit. I am very excited to have her join me in this adventure. The fact that she loves the product and has been my best friend for 15 years doesn’t hurt either. Her email address is carol [at] tiny-tales.com.

Love

I am so in love with the new tiny Tales site.  I think it is adorable and eye catching, but most important for my customers, easy to read and navigate.  I also like how easy it is for me to make changes - for example - the free shipping sale going on through the end of the month (within the US)!

Tiny Tales is growing up!

newlogo.jpg

Why all the changes?
We’ve been in business a little over a year, and it just felt like it was time for a change. The company is growing faster than a toddler can throw a sippy cup, and we wanted a tagline and logo that was more representative of where we are going with the business.

What is the new tagline?
You may recall the previous Tiny Tales tagline was “catcher and keeper of baby’s first stories.” While it was a good fit for our kits targeted towards newborns and toddlers, having “baby” in the tagline felt too restrictive for future growth. We have big plans for expanding our product line this year, and are excited about the flexibility of the new tagline “The perfect recipe for life’s moments.” And honestly we felt it was catchier because who doesn’t want the perfect recipe for something? The perfect solution? The perfect product? This is what I want customers to feel when they think of Tiny Tales.

What’s up with the elephant in the new logo?
Um….we just like elephants? No really - there was some actual thought behind it. The main connection is the old adage “an elephant never forgets.” We don’t want you to forget any of the special memories that life brings, so the elephant in the logo is like the keeper for all those memories - providing a product so you never forget those special times. Is that explanation too deep for you? Ok..how about this one: we thought it was funny (in an ironic way) that the company has “tiny” in the name and the elephant is one of the largest animals alive. Either way, we like the connection. And we just like elephants.

When is the new website going to be ready?
The planned date is March 9th. We expect it to be down on March 7th and 8th

Oh no - I’ve bought 47 Tiny Tales kits for all my friends and now the notepads will turn into collector’s items!
Not just yet. Even though changes are a comin’, our product is the same modern, simple design you know and love. So rest easy, you and your friends can order notepad refills and they will match the ones you already have.
